Living in the Mudgee Gulgong Region

 

The Mudgee district is probably most famous for its wines but the locals know there is much more on offer. The vibrant community lives amongst boutique shopping, cafes, restaurants, historic buildings, vineyards, art, music festivals, and national parks. This is a region with a thriving cultural and food scene including live music, galleries, festivals, cafes, restaurants, monthly farmers markets and much more.

Mudgee has many services:


Schools - Mudgee has two Public schools from kindergarten to year 6, a high school to year 12, and a Catholic school from year 1 to year 10
Gulgong has a public school from Year 1 to year 6, a high school from year 7 to year 12 and a Catholic Primary school

TAFE - offering a diverse range of courses


Housing - Whether you decide to live in town or experience rural lifestyle there is a house for you. Mudgee and Gulgong have the choice of urban or rural lifestyles from which to choose. We are able to introduce you to someone to help you find the perfect home for you and your family.

 

Sporting facilities - Sport is popular in this region and has exceptional facilities to match. These include sports grounds, golf courses, tennis and squash courts and olympic swimming pools. There are also a number of sporting and recreational clubs including athletics, aero clubs, bushwalking, bird watching, shooting, Rugby League, Rugby union, soccer, tennis, choirs, bands, pony club and dressage amongst others.

 

Community groups - Community groups and associations are very active in the region and include Rotary, Lions Club, Scouts, Gardening, CWA, Bridge, just to name a few.

 

Festivals - The Mudgee region enjoys a celebration and so a number of festivals are held regularly to entertain, covering a wide range of interests. Mudgee Wine Festival, Mudgee Readers' Festival, Mudfest an international short film festival, Huntington Music Festival,  the Mudgee Running Festival, Gulgong Folk Festival and Henry Lawson Festival.
